Here is a link to a super article that I found with tips on how to improve your FICO score in just one month. I’ve been paying all my bills on MasterCard for security and good record keeping. Now I know that the credit reporting companies read that as me living on my credit cards!   http://frontdoor.com/news/article/423

When I had my furnace serviced recently, I also had my ducts checked for leaks. They found multiple leaks and a startling lack of duct insulation. By sealing the ducts with mastic–not duct tape (It doesn’t last.)–and adding insulation, I should be saving  money and energy this winter. And if you believe the acorn indicator–a heavy acorn fall supposedly portends a bad winter! We are in for a long, cold winter.

Don’t miss your chance to let the Federal government reward you for making your home more energy efficient. If you have improved your home insulation, replaced your water heater, furnace, windows or outside doors…or plan to do so before then end of the year…by December 31, 2007, you can qualify for up to $500 in total tax credits. Go to www.energystar.gov and click on “tax credits” to find out how much each project is worth. Consumer Reports Magazine says a good place to start making your home more energy efficient is with insulation. Most homes…even newer construction…do not have enough insulation under the attic floor, CR says. Insulating and weather-stripping your house can cut your energy bills by up to 30 percent! Good luck!
